Alan Darby is one of the most sought-after guitar players in the UK.

Alan was born in Scotland, has a BSC Hon. Civil Engineering, and attended Berklee Jazz school, Boston. He lives in West London and also spends time in his other home in Hollywood.

Paul McCartney, Elton John, Sting, Queen, Bonnie Raitt, BB King, Buddy Guy, Rod Stewart, Burt Bacharach, Hanz Zimmer, Tony Visconti, Mark Knopfler, Tom Jones, Mary J Blige, Eurythmics, Paul Young, Ringo Starr, Phil Collins, Alannah Miles, Steve Harley, Wishbone Ash, John Martyn, Heather Small, Curtis Stigers, McFly, Marti Pellow, Belinda Carlisle, Sam Moore, Hamish Stuart, Russell Watson, Mike Sanchez, Kokomo, Tony O'Malley and many more, as well as numerous recording sessions. Alan was Musical Director for Lulu, The Lottery Show, Bonnie Tyler, and Gibson Guitars 100th Anniversay concert at Wembley. He was also a member of the band in the Queen London musical We Will Rock You.

As well as a hired guitar player, Alan has had a solo career with Virgin records, had his own bands, Cado Belle and Fashion, and has had his songs recorded by Bonnie Raitt and Bonnie Tyler. He is currently writing film scores, TV and cinema adverts, and Library albums.

Movies he has worked on include "Local Hero" with Mark Knopfler, "Being There" featuring Charlotte Church and he has had his music in "Failure To Launch" featuring Matthew McConaughy and Sarah Jessica Parker. He also scored and recorded "The Meeksville Ghost" featuring Judge Reinhold.

Alan's last live project was Alan Darby's Guitars Deluxe;- a band playing 50's swing blues featuring 3 gtrs in harmony.

Alan has just finished a solo album;- songs with an ambient, blues, soundscape feel, featuring many guests including Ringo Star, Bonnie Raitt, Peter Frampton, etc. 
It will be released this year.

He also played Crossroads festivals in Dallas in September 2019 with Eric Clapton, and is now an ambassador for Turn Up For Recovery, a subsidiary charity to Crossroads run by Melia Clapton.
